Care to share the evidence?
A person taking the contrary view would only need
to point to some microscopic terrain shifting on a compatible
frequency to refute this position, I expect.

Brian, the Great Newton not withstanding, the Tidal Bulges most phys texts
talk about are fiction. Cf my page or the NOAA pages Michael refers to.
