The deadline for submission of all abstracts for the 128th AAPT National
Meeting in Miami Beach, FL, is Sunday, September 21. The theme for this

DEADLINE NOV. 1 TO APPLY FOR HIGH SCHOOL TEACHER GRANTS
This year the American Association of Physics Teachers (AAPT) will
continue its Innovative High School Physics Teachers Grants Program.
This
program enables high school physics teachers to compete for small grants
that will support the operation of innovative physics programs or
activities that seek to increase student enrollment or to enhance
student
achievement in physics. More information can be found at

NATIONAL MODEL ROCKET CONTEST
The Aerospace Industries Association and National Association of
Rocketry
will hold their annual national model rocket contest on May 15, 2004.
The
deadline for applications is November 15, 2003. The American Association
of Physics Teachers is a supporting partner of the event. Detailed
information about the competition including the rules and an application
