There is a test list called PHYS-TEST-L@lists.nau.edu for this sort of
experimentation; see
<http://mailgate1.nau.edu/archives/>
for further information and the archives of PHYS-TEST-L.

There are also ways of identifying settings for MIME-handling to
LISTSERV; directions are found on the
PHYS-L homepage. Unfortunately, MIME settings for non-DIGEST mode
subscribers are only available
by emailing commands to listserv; the kinder, gentler web-based
LISTSERV control interface on the
archives pages only controls MIME settings for DIGEST mode subscribers.
Eg:
<http://mailgate1.nau.edu/cgi-bin/wa?A1=ind0211&L=phys-l>
On the far RHS, the second-last icon shows a person joining or leaving
a group. Clicking on that
icon allows the reset of MIME options for DIGEST subscribers only.

And I'm afraid that I don't know if either of these routes will fix
Mike's problem :^)

Best regards,
