Further to Ludwik's reasonable suggestion, there are several
newsgroups where lively threads are pursued in electronics:
One such is sci.electronics.design
 Teachers have been known to stray there.
I bartered an old physics text with Winfield Hill for a signed
copy of his "Art of Electronics" for example.
