Just as an insight into grade inflation at the secondary level for those who
have been holed up behind ivy covered walls too long. We had my Chem majors
class over last weekend and heard a number of stories about high schools
with multiple valedictorians--like 17 in one case, even more, I believe, in
another. At one of the schools all the people with 4.0 averages were
required to write an essay and the 'best' essay got to be valedictorian.
Maybe some of the other High School people could share any (horror) stories
about similar situations at theirs or neighboring schools. ;-(
