I disagree with this. Using trig, you can work out the radius of the B
field, then using the equation B= mu_0*I/(2*pi*r), the magnetic flux can
H=B/mu_0.calculated.
From this the magnetic field can be calculated using the formula
currentdo you agree or disagree?

The question is :
an infinite straight xonductor running along the x-axis carries a
directionof 50A in the positive direction. calculate the magnitude and
haveof
the magnetic flux and the magnetic field at point (5,4,4).
The magnetic flux can not be calculated unless the
area is specified. But you can calculate the field:
B=mu_o*i/(2*pi*d)
with i=50 A. You can derive this from the Biot
Savart law Note that d is the distance from your
point to the x axis, in meters.

most of it apart from the direction parts. i do not know how to work

i think when i posted it, one of you suggested the right hand rule.
directionstill
currentcannot seem to do it.
can any of you tell me how to do it.
the question is :
an infinite straight xonductor running along the x-axis carries a
of 50A in the positive direction. calculate the magnitude and
sameof
the magnetic flux and the magnetic field at point (5,4,4).
a second conductor of lenght 0.15m carrying a current of 3a in the
determinedirection is then placed at (5,4,4), parallel to the first.
thethe
magnitude and direction of the magnetic force acting on it?
here is what i have done:
sqrt=square root
r=sqrt(42+42)
=sqrt32
B=Uo*I/2*pi*r
=Uo*50/2*pi* sqrt32
=1.77pT
H=B/Uo
=1.4At/m
F=I*L*B
=3*0.15*1.77pT
=796.5nN
i think what i have done is correct so if any of you could help with
direction i would be grateful
