Please note the following updated information about the location of t=
he
ARISE program events which Dr. Leon Lederman will be hosting at the N=
STA
National Convention in San Diego. If you are involved in science tea=
ching
at a school which offers either physics first or a similar curriculum=
, then
Dr. Lederman invites you to attend one or more of these events. There=
will
be four events: two duplicate workshops (you need attend only one), =
an open
session at which Dr. John Marburger will speak, and an afernoon recep=
tion
following Dr. Marburger's speech.

Here are the details of times and places:

WORKSHOPS will be held on Tuesday March 26 and Thursday, March 28. Yo=
u need
to attend only one. Both meetings are in the evening from 6 PM =AD 9=
PM in
room Manchester G (second floor) at the Manchester Grand Hyatt, San D=
iego.
The format of the workshop is small-group discussion facilitated by y=
our
teaching peers. The objective is to gather information from the fiel=
d on
the progress of the physics first movement. There will be a short
discussion period prior to the workshops where participants and other=
s can
meet with Dr. Lederman and with others interested in a coherent three=
-year
physics-based high school curriculum. Please contact Yvonne Twomey a=

ytwomey@fnal.gov if you would like to take part in either of these
workshops.

DR. JOHN MARBURGER'S presentation will be held from 12:30 =AD 1:30pm =
on
Wednesday, March 27 at the San Diego Convention Center, Room 20A. Fo=
llowing
Dr. Marburger=B9s presentation there will be a RECEPTION starting at =
2:00pm at
the Manchester Grand Hyatt, meeting room Windsor A. Feel free to drop=
in
during the course of the afternoon. There will be refreshments and a=
warm
welcome from Dr. Lederman for all those who have an interest in the A=
RISE
program. No pre-registration is required for either of these events.

We have a limited number of slots for the workshops and will fill the=
m on a
