My son sent me the following URL with (I believe) a tongue-in-cheek

I'm wondering if
anyone else sees an element of truth in it?

I was amused to see what NLREG would find as a best fit to
the data provided. In resolving the data to
Resistance Ratio = exp(-0.000225*(3083 + temperature))
[pretty close to a straight line, wouldn't you say?]
it reported the following:

"Proportion of variance explained (R^2) = 0.0009 (0.09%)
"Adjusted coefficient of multiple determination (Ra^2) = -0.0361 (-3.61%)
"Durbin-Watson test for autocorrelation = 1.729

"Warning: Covariance matrix could not be computed because
the finite-difference Hessian was indefinite.

Are those results dramatic, or what? :-)
