There's a fine list of science-related sayings at
http://dbhs.wvusd.k12.ca.us/Sayings.html
Only a fraction qualify as "funny", but almost all of
them are interesting and quotable.
Particular favorites include:
*) Academic politics is the most vicious and bitter
form of politics, because the stakes are so low.
-- Wallace Sayre
*) Man who says it cannot be done, should not interrupt man doing it.
-- Chinese proverb
*) In theory there is no difference between theory and practice.
But in practice there is.
-- Jan L.A. van de Snepscheut
*) Men occasionally stumble over truth, but most of them
pick themselves up and hurry off as if nothing had happened.
-- Winston Churchill
====================================
By the way, the "Chem Team" site as a whole
http://dbhs.wvusd.k12.ca.us/ChemTeamIndex.html
is remarkably nice.
For instance, the discussion at
http://dbhs.wvusd.k12.ca.us/AcidBase/Bronsted-Lowry-AcidBase.html
is the most thoughtful discussion of Brønsted+Lowry acid/base
theory I've ever seen.
Students could learn a lot by perusing this site.
It's a shame there isn't a corresponding "Physics Team" site.
