I noticed a large drop-off in the performance of the students in my
introductory physics course, and I also was wondering if it had
something to do with the events of 9/11.  My students didn't take the
FCI, but I gave identical homework problems as I did last year, but
this year's class average was 69% versus last year's average of 79%.
The exam scores were also much worse.  The students did not seem to
be studying as hard for the exams as in previous years.
