Re: Brewster Angle

This is to do with the Brewster Angle..I just want
to be able to explain whats going on at a Microscopic level.

Does anyone know how the dipole radiation at an interface with transvers
magnetic light incident onto it interfer to produce a reflected beam which
is highly directional.

1) It's better to say "highly polarized". Highly "directional" means
something else.

2) Feynman volume I chapter 33, section 33-4 and especially
figure 33-4 discusses the special case of Brewster's angle.
The qualitative argument is powerful and memorable.

3) Feynman volume II chapter 33, section 33-4 gives
additional detail including all possible angles.
What a bizarre coincidence of numbers, a year apart....
