1. BARBARA LOTZE SCHOLARSHIP FOR FUTURE TEACHERS

The AAPT Executive Board is offering a $2,000 scholarship for future
high-school physics teachers for which all materials, including letters of
recommendation, are due by December 8 and will be considered for
recommendation at the following January 2002 meeting of the AAPT Executive

2. EARLY-BIRD DEADLINE FOR 124TH AAPT NATIONAL MEETING

Save money! The "early-bird" preregistration deadline for the 124th AAPT
National Meeting January 19-23, 2002, in Philadelphia, PA, is November 28.

3. 2002 U.S. PHYSICS TEAM TRAINING CAMP

Nominate your best high school physics students to join the 2002 U.S.
Physics Team. Students who excel during the Physics Team Training camp
will be eligible for awards, cash scholarships and recognition. For

4. SUBMIT PAPERS & POSTERS FOR THE WINTER MEETING

Reminder -- you can still submit post-deadline contributed and poster
abstracts for the Winter Meeting in Philadelphia, PA, until December 28.
There is no longer a fee associated with submissions, and while only one
contributed oral paper may be given per individual, there is no limit to
the number of poster papers that may be submitted. Submit electronically
through the web at http://www.aapt.org/abstracts/.
