Once your tutor has said 'abscissa' (between clenched teeth,)
and 'ordinate' (in a prognathous leer),  you never forget.

Have I mentioned that parents aside,  teachers have the sole distinction
of altering people's lives,  and staying fresh in the mind for ever?
