We all saw tremendous clouds of dark gray dust as the buildings
collapsed. I understand that this is all pulverized concrete. It
strikes me that the energy required to pulverize all that concrete
must be a significant factor in why the building appeared to be in
slow motion once it was well into collapse and why Mr. 82nd floor was
able to ride the building down. When they show the work digging
through the rubble, I do not see many large pieces of concrete and I
see evidence that a lot of debris is being carried to waiting trucks
in large buckets.
Anybody got a handle on the energy to pulverize all that concrete?
