At 03:29 PM 3/25/01 -0500, I advocated implementing proper boundary
conditions, and offered the following rationale:

Students should be _permitted_ to use a grounded enclosure but not
_required_ to do so.

Here's an even better rationale: Even when people choose to have a
grounded enclosure, they should not be required to have the enclosure sit
right at the edge of the universe.

-- Given proper boundary conditions, it is possible to have perfectly
ordinary vacuum cells touching the edge of the universe. It just works,
automatically and naturally.
-- Without proper boundary conditions, one faces all sorts of nasty
questions about how to apply the averaging algorithm to the cells at the edge.
