Re: Ice cream sodas

Just remember that a bottle of soda with its cap removed is not in
equilibrium, and it typically takes many minutes to reach equilibrium. Lots
of physical things (shaking, adding other materials) can accelerate the
approach to equilibrium. In the short time scale of adding or doing
something and seeing an immediate increase in fizzing we are not likely
viewing equilibrium shifts. We are more likely seeing acceleration of our
approach to equilibrium.
