I would like to know how many people want to learn about
less well known aspects of electrostatics from JohnD. If I am
the only one then I will start communicating with John in
private (instead of annoying others). So please send me a note
IN PRIVATE if you want the discussion about details to
continue on phys-L. I will count those who are interested
and continue asking questions in public if there is at least
two or three others who are interested.
I plan to summarize the funny capacitor thread what I feel
comfortable with the topic. Perhaps other people should
do the same with other threads, if they are inclined to do
so. It is like publishing a paper, except that one does not
have to wait for an acceptance (or rejection). Those of us
who are no longer in the "rat race" should find the Internet
"publishing" more attractive; I certainly do.
