Since light can't slow down, as it climbs out of the gravity well, it loses
energy by decreasing frequency. Another way of saying this is that space is

Subject: Speed of Light

A high school student asked about the speed of light escaping from just
beyond the event horizon of a black hole. Is the speed slower than c
? How should we talk about that situation?

Thanks for any suggestions, David Abineri
