An excellent resource for all aspects of cosmology is the web site
created by Ned Wright at UCLA. This includes an up-to-date discussion
of the evidence for an accelerating universe. http://www.astro.ucla.edu/~wright/cosmolog.htm
The January 2001 issue of Scientific American has several articles on
cosmology, including one by Jim Peebles that is available on-line. In
it he gives a "report card" on several current ideas. http://www.sciam.com/2001/0101issue/0101peebles.html
For a compact technical discussion of modern cosmology, consult a
series of articles available in PDF format from CERN: http://pdg.web.cern.ch/pdg/2000/contents_sports.html (click on
"Astrophysics and Cosmology")
