Summer Workshop in Plasma Physics and Fusion Energy
Hello,
Below is an announcement for a summer workshop in plasma physics and
fusion energy for high school physics teachers. It is,
unfortunately, only open to those teaching in the US. I am
unsubscribing to the listserv after posting this so please direct any
questions to me directly and not to the entire list. The same
announcement will also be in the next issues of The Physics Teacher and
the AAPT Announcer.
Thanks,
Andrew
Its 99% of the visible universe. Its
on its way toward driving a trillion dollar world-wide economy.
Some day, it should provide a practically unlimited and clean supply of
electricity. Weave something hot into your existing curriculum
this summer. PLASMA.
Princeton Universitys Plasma Physics Laboratory announces an intensive
summer workshop in plasma physics and fusion energy for high school
physics teachers July 16-27, 2001. Participants spend the majority
of their time in the laboratory investigating the basic properties of
plasmas. New plasma-based curricula activities (labs, demos,
advanced projects) will be developed and $2,000 grants to facilitate
these are available. Selection is highly competitive and
participants will receive a $600 stipend. Travel costs, housing,
and a partial meal plan are provided. Deadline for receipt of
applications is April 15, 2001. Questions should be directed to Dr.
Andrew Post-Zwicker at (609)243-2150,
azwicker@pppl.gov.
