If "current" is accepted to mean electron flow, then wouldn't
"current flow" be electron flow flow?

So how come the direction of the current "flow" is the opposite direction
from the electron flow flow?

Current was originally thought to have arisen from the flow of positive
charges - most beginning electrochemistry books include a discussion of the
origin of this idea.
