Re: summary: causation in physics

Regarding John Denker's question:

Question: Can you think of any other exceptions?

Exception #4: Quantum measurements. Although some may consider this
irreversible time asymmetry between a state before
measurement and the state after measurement as being a
special case of thermodynamic irreversibility, it is often
considered as its own special case (and its own separate
projection postulate in the formulation of quantum
mechanics a la von Neumann).
