Brass trumpets, etc.

Folks,

I'm no expert on the mechanics of brass instruments. But I sing in the
Portland Symphonic Choir, which performs with the Oregon Symphony
(conducted by Maestro James DePreist - Marian Anderson's nephew). I'm a
bass-baritone, so I sit right behind the brass section. Most of the
players in the
trumpet section use trumpets built by David Monette:

The whole brass section in the orchestra is solid. Each musician is
technically adept, so differences between players are stylistic. We just

did Beethoven's 9th. FWIW, the only clam I heard from the brass was
served up by the one non-Monette trumpet.
