Re: Concerned about grades

But, Lisa, many of us do not test you on "what you know", but how
well you can apply the stuff that we've been teaching, which (note the
comma) is quite a different matter. Our ultimate question is whether
the Mars Lander that you design will make a successful trip to Mars.

Adam was by constitution and proclivity a scientist; I was the same, and
we loved to call ourselves by that great name...Our first memorable
scientific discovery was the law that water and like fluids run downhill,
not up.

Wow, all this discussion!

I'm sorry, but what I would always prefer is 95, 93 or 90 -100 % for
an A for all tests, lab or anything graded in the class; period! I
want to be graded on what I know not how I stand in relationship to my
fellow students. That way the class could be all A's (or??) and that
would be fine, and FAIR. You can't imagine how upset I would be if I
got a B for some reason other than my own doing (or lack of ).

I sure hope this all becomes reasonable by the time I get to high
school or college.
