you are right Ludwig. The battery that goes bad IS on the mother board.

BUT, as this battery is failing, it can produce some bizarre
behavior, including bad video.

Your pincusioning effect is prolly NOT caused by this bad
battery tho. (in my completely unfounded opinion.)

It's hard to give up on a bigscreen AV monitor like this one.


Will read the manual
before deciding that the big monitor used for 4 years is
not worth repairing; the initial cost of this AV unit was
close to 1k$. Thanks for the hint.
