Re: Giancoli 5th

Title: RE: Giancoli 5th

Serway's and Giancoli's texts are essentially the same in regards to order, content, and clarity, but it is my feeling that the problems at the end of the chapters in Giancoli are better organized, from easy to do to the more difficult multi-conceptual problems.  Serway throws in more difficult problems before the students have a chance to test their ability to solve the basic single concept problems.

The honors physics (non-calculus intro) uses Serway & Faughan after
using Giancoli for many years. I'm not teaching that course, but
those who are like the book.

Let's face it. People use a Mac because they want to, Windows because they
have to..
