The sense in which Maxwell's displacement current may be considered
a) a current
b) a source of magnetic field has been discussed and debated in this forum.
I just want to bring to everybody's attention a note in the recent May 2000
issue of TPT an article from A.P. French which discusses these point quite
succinctly and at the introductory physics level.
