Re: Hot water in microwave

Thanks much to all who responded to my "hot water in microwave" question.
Since I always use a temperature probe and heat water to just below boiling,
I had no idea that a microwave would create a super heated condition in a
"normal" cup. I will tell my family and friends to be cautious.

As usual, the extended discussions by the PHYS-Lers was most enlightening.

Cheers,

Rick

I came across the report below about hot water "blowing up" after being
microwaved. Does not make sense to me. Anyone have information about
such a thing?
