The efficacy of such "seat experiments" was well known and popularized
by Hubert Alyea in his famous chemistry class where students were to
bring their box of equipment to do such experiments during his
lectures. If someone has developed a similar series of seat experiments
(and the equipment list(s)) it would be wonderful if (s)he would post
them.
