position available

The following announcement may of interest to a geophysicist - while the
search is under the aegis of Environmental Studies, it has been determined
that the individual hired will report to the physics department (I'll be
happy to discuss off-list
why this is the case!).

Assistant Professor of Environmental Studies

Randolph-Macon College invites applications for a tenure-track position in
earth science, beginning in Fall 2000. The successful applicant must have a
Ph.D. in geology or closely related field and the willingness to work

upper-level electives in the applicant's field of specialization. The
successful applicant must also initiate and sustain an active undergraduate
research program. Randolph-Macon College is a selective coeducational
