What about dealing with flight in the context of the "projectile motion"
rather than in the context of "fluids"? Too bad the message, posted ten
minutes ago, did not refer to the "less is more" aspect of teaching. It
was actually there, implicitly.

If Bernoulli has no place in the physics of flight, then flight can fit in
fine with Newton's laws. If the behavior of the 'fluid' air IS important,
than it would seem something of fluids needs to be addressed in connection
with flight. As it normally falls in our intro texts, it is there with
pressure, Pacall's principle, the continuity equation, and Bernoulli.
