Re: Travesty of big-bang energetics



I'm not so sure that even *that* is good enough for now. Global energy
conservation is not guaranteed (or even objectively definable) in GR--


This is *not* an energy conserving process
and the total amount of energy in the universe is not constant.


I remember one of my committee members (a GR person, RH Price at the
University of Utah) telling me about this 7 years ago. All I could
remember saying about it was "oh, that's just great." Here I was
about to get my PhD and somebody lays this one on me. Thank you very
much.

Anyway, I didn't follow it then and I don't follow it now. If I were
to embark on a course of self-study to understand this concept, is
there such a program you might recommend? Or, is the answer just
"learn GR in depth?"
