Talking of being amazed, I remark that a ball rolling down a ramp
gets to the foot of a hill slower than a ball that rolls down a
steeper roller coaster valley and climb to the self-same point,
starting at the identical start point.

I would be even more amazed if a capacitor would roll down a steep
incline
and then climb back to its starting point.
