In addition to NIH Image, Linux/Unix users will find a long list of image
and signal processing and visualization tools at
http://chpc06.ch.unito.it/linux/E/1/  In particular, TN-Image is a lot
like NIH Image (you actually get it from NIH although I'm not sure if
there's a definite connection between the two programs). More info about
