There ought to be a covariant quantity whose timelike (or
timelike-timelike) projection is the temperature. It would be a Lagrange
Multiplier for conserving the stress energy tensor in ensemble dynamics.

The Internal Energy of a body is measured in the rest frame of the Center
of Mass of that body and therefore the Temperature of a body is measured in
that reference frame.
