Probably Fun Fact 3
minutes and seconds:
In Roman times, time was initially divided into hours. Then a need
was felt for smaller divisions. The smaller division was called
(the latin cognate of) "minute division", thus "minute". When
need arose for a still smaller division, it was called (the latin
cognate of) "second minute division", thus "second". Thus
if you ever wondered whether the time/angular meaning of
"second" is related to the "order" meaning of "second", it is.
