Is this the official Internet excuse for the obvious misuse of the word
'parsec' in the movie?

[Can't remember the name of the old 'B' movie, but in one scene the rocket
ship is going out of control so the camera pans down to the control panel
where we see the wildly fluctuating meters--labeled 'WOW' and 'FLUTTER'.  At
least the Starship Enterprise has Inertia Dampers to allow it to make
U-turns at near light speeds. ]
