Hello, everybody,
I have a question regarding ferromagnetism. There are a few such
substances that have a permanent magnetic dipole moment. Just how is this
created for Iron, Cobalt, and Nickel and not more of the elements in the
transition series? Also, would a good magnet be formed by first melting the
ferromagnetic material and then "freezing" it in the presence of a strong,
external magnetic field?
As always, thanks for your keen insights.
