These ads having been running in Parade for years and have been driving me
wild for as long. I often wonder how many losing fights with the people in
charge of advertising in that mag that Carl Sagan must have had. It is a
tribute to the importance he saw in the things he had to say in his Parade
articles that he continued to write them in spite of the idiocy of those
numerology ads. He must be spinning in his grave to note that the ads have
survived him. The futility of it all!
