There are fairly new devices that handbell choirs
use for a different sound or for the children's auxiliary,
made of a length of square channel aluminium with a saw cut in one end
parallel to the length. The cut makes it like a tuning fork and matches
the air column pitch.

I made a couple of them of iron. They sound nice and loud.
