Researchers in North Carolina are suggesting that a single-cell
organism that is leaving lesions in East Coast fish also
takes chunks out of learning ability.
The investigation using rats began when researchers examining
Pfiesteria began to lose their ability to concentrate, becoming
distracted, disoriented and moody.
The results of the study are in the
December issue of Environmental Health Perspectives.
