The Department of Physics and Astronomy at Iowa State University seeks
outstanding applicants for a tenure-track faculty position in physics
undergraduate education at the Assistant Professor level. Candidates
should have a doctorate in physics or astrophysics. The successful
applicant will be a graduate of a physics education research program
or have significant experience in physics education research and
innovative teaching techniques. They are expected to establish a
physics education research program oriented primarily towards large
undergraduate courses and to obtain funding for that
program. Considerable involvement in those courses is also expected.
In addition, they will be involved in K-12 teacher preparation and
teacher enhancement in physics. Evaluation for promotion and tenure
will be based primarily on the significance of their contributions to
physics education and excellent teaching.
