Even though it's fading now, Hale-Bopp is still a fascinating sight.
I've put up some pictures taken by myself and friend who lives in the
remote countryside of western Maryland. Here's the URL if anyone is
interested:
The pictures by Gus Johnson are spectacular and educational because they
show the different orientation of the comet's tails in the morning and
evening skies. I also have pictures showing the location of the comet
on two dates last July. (The comet is just a small smudge in those
images because it was still pretty far away then.) The movement
relative to the stars is quite large. As of now there are only a few
pictures, but we'll be adding more in the near future. Check it out!
