I agree with muvh of what Palmer recently wrote. Does that make the two
of us eliteists? Probably and I am unrepentant. There is no shortage of
physicists.
However there is another shortage and it is getting worse. There is a
shortage of scientifically literate voters. General physics is an
ideal course with which one can combate scientific illiteracy.
Therefore any efforts to reduce confusion and increase assimulation
of essential ideas should be welcome.
