Re: Poynting-Robertson effect

Palmer raises an interesting point (as he is wont to do) in his last
post on P-R effect. He states that the gravitational force points directly
to the center of the sun because it is a feature of space and does not
propagate as does light.

How does one reconcile this statement with the concepts of gravitons
and gravity waves?

What I've said about the gravitational field not propagating can also
be said of the electrostatic field of a charged body. That field doesn't
propagate either. It is static. It bears the same sort of relationship to
electromagnetic waves that the gravitational field bears to gravitational
waves. EM waves have been observed; gravitational waves have not, and
gravitons are purest science fiction at our present sate of theoretical
dvelopment.
