introductory astrophysics text?

Apologies if this message seems familiar - I sent a similar query a while ago, but
it appeared to disappear into the void ...
I've been asked to develop an astronomy course for second/third year
students, at quite short notice. It will only be a 13 lecture course
next year, but hopefully will be offered as a 26 lecture course
thereafter. Some, but not all, of the students will have done my
entirely non-mathematical first year astro. course, and all the
students will have some maths and physics skills.
The idea is to give the new course an "introduction to astrophysics"
slant, with some maths and problem solving, but nothing too
sophisticated for these students!
Now I'm looking for a suitable text. I'm familiar with the Intro.
Astronomy & Astrophysics one by Zeilik, M. & Smith, E.V.P. The level
of the maths is about right in it, but it contains way too much information
for a short course like this, and I was hoping to find something with
a rather more lively presentation.
Could anyone with any suggestions please reply directly to me, to
avoid cluttering the list?
Thanks
