Re: the algebra based course

I too am interested in what other people have tried. I've never liked starting
with mechanics and have pretty much made up my mink to try starting with
electricity this spring.

I am wondering if anyone is doing the 2 semester
algebra based sequence in a way that does not
follow the calc based sequence without calc, i.e. mechanics
followed by E&M and maybe some other stuff in between.
Two older books come to my mind of more appropriate
materials for that group: Physics for the Inquiring Mind
by Eric Rogers, and Physics by Elisha Huggins.

I have not taught this course in many years, but often
feel that the audience would be better served by a
quite different sequence than I see in many books. What
good things are people doing now?
