Re: What Flows?

James McLean asked:
By the way, what do flames in zero g environments do? I suppose that they
aren't spherically symetric, since air needs to get into them for fuel. Is
that right? Do they sputter?

Hi James, check out the l995 German film "Out of the Present" which
involves filming Russian astronauts in MIR spacecraft...they lit a candle
in the high-O2 atmosphere. Result: the wax melted and surface tension kept
the wax in a spherical surface. The flame became circular, but was modified
every time the candle holder moved or blew on the candle. Cheers,
