Re: I guess I get to "put up or shut-up".

Hi,
I haven't taught calculus, but if you want to give your students
something more interesting than equations to look at, and want to
take up Emilio's suggestions

Keep in mind your objectives for the course, for example:
a) The derivative and integral are very simple concepts, appealing to
intuition from geometry (slope of the tangent and area) or from
physics (velocity and work). A basic task is to find out how they
should be formulated mathematically (i.e. with more precision, gene-
rality and abstraction) in order to make them accessible to mathematical
(algebraic) manipulations.

then you could do worse than take a look at Calculus Connections:
a Multimedia Adventure. This is a CD ROM for Windows published by
John Wiley. You can get more details from the CTI-Physics Resource
Guide, http://www.ph.surrey.ac.uk/cti/catalog/ [but please note: we
don't sell any software, we only provide information on how IT can
be used in teaching, and we are only funded to do that for UK higher
education].
