I remember reading
that a 120 lb woman would exert the equivalent of 20,000 lbs of force on
the floor when they walked in spikes.

Uh, let's distinguish between force and pressure here. Anyone weighing 120
lbs who could exert a force of 10 tons would be impressive indeed!
